K9 Cigo Memorial

On Christmas Eve 2018, Palm Beach Sheriff Deputy K9 "Cigo" was shot in the line of duty while apprehending wanted and armed homicide suspects outside of the Wellington Green Mall.  At the time of his Line of Duty death Cigo was only 3 years old.  Cigo bears the unfortunate distinction of being the first working dog in the history of the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office to be killed in the Line of Duty.

The K9 Cigo Memorial shirt represents both Cigo and his K9 handler, Deputy Ryan Soriano, as well as the color scheme of the uniform donned by them during their shifts protecting the citizens of Wellington (PBSO District 8). The front reflects Deputy Soriano's tactical vest along with Cigo's call sign "K9-7".  The back of the shirt bears the Thin Blue Line to represent a fallen officer while the two white stars represent Cigo's 2 years of service as a PBSO Deputy and the 1 green star represents Cigo's year working the street.  Dep. Ryan Soriano’s initials are outside of the two white stars representing the years they spent together as partners.  The number 8 inside the single green star represents the 1 year Cigo spent as a working dog before his heroic act while assisting in apprehending and protecting fellow Deputies from wanted suspects in PBSO District 8.

CrossFit Wellington wrote the hero WOD “Cigo” to honor a fallen hero and a member of our gym family.  A partner workout to symbolize Ryan and Cigo... the 7 represents their call number and the reps are based on Cigo’s DOB 11/1/15.  The Event was held at CrossFit Wellington on 01/12/19.

The K9 CIGO MEMORIAL WOD Shirt was created to Support the event and was such a success with all those wishing to Support the event, Deputy Soriano and the CAMO Foundation that after a ton of event day and social media demand we have opened a 2nd ROUND OF PRE ORDER Shirts.  This round will close on Saturday 01/19/19 and all shirts will be printed and shipped the following week.

For anyone ordering the shirt or wishing to do the "CIGO WOD" to show your Support of Dep. Soriano and Cigo you can show Support on social media and tag #K9Cigo and #CigoWOD

A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS from these shirts are being donated to the Camo Foundation who take shelter dogs and train them for military veterans and law enforcement work.
